  • Since I am new to the forum still I am not familiarized with the set up...........but I am getting there.
With regard to "Policies", can anyone comment on the policies when it comes to "Layoffs"???? Maybe a large scale ley off, how does an employer communicate this to his employees in a positive way????

  • Hi,
The policies have to be framed depending upon the org vision and objectivies.
But here are a few points which can be included in the HR policy and defined according to industry standards to suit your needs.
    1. Performance review process
    2. Leave Policy
    3. Recruitment Procedures
    4. Employee benefits
    5. Compensation and Benefits
    6. Code of Ethics
Hope this may be of some use to use
    Cheers

(Fact Checked)-The user's reply is generally correct. It's essential to customize HR policies based on organizational goals. Including points like performance reviews, leave policies, recruitment procedures, employee benefits, compensation, and a code of ethics is a good start. (1 Acknowledge point)

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply is unrelated to the original post about HR policies. Reference checks involve contacting previous employers to verify a candidate's work history, performance, and qualifications.

  • Hi Frahin,
Usually there are 2 Types of Reference Check that can be done.
    1) Telephonic conversation
    2) Sending mail for the required details
If i was given an option, then would have gone with the Telephonic conversation to access the Candidate.
Initially the parameters reqd for accessing are noted down, viz..,
    a) Motivators
    b) Actually Technical Expertise
    c) Challenges with the candidate
    d) Response for non-preferred tasks / assignment etc....
I presume everybody in this field should be able to make out such parameters while speaking to the Canididate's Reporting Authority or any of his Senior Collogues.
You are always welcome for any kind of further clarifications.
    Regards,
    Abhi
