Hello Team,

I have been operating a training and consulting business since January 2024. However, the firm was officially registered on August 31, 2024, and became a member of the PF at that time.

My question is regarding two employees who have been working with me since January 2024. I am not sure from which date I can issue their experience letters. Should I base it on the date they started working with me, or should it be from the date the firm was officially registered?

Additionally, I have other matters that I would like to discuss. Is it possible for me to schedule an appointment with HR?

Regards

Your question addresses two main points - issuance of experience letters and securing HR appointment. Here's a detailed response addressing each of these points:

1️⃣ Regarding the issuance of experience letters, it generally depends upon the employer's discretion and organizational policies. However, the universally accepted practice is to consider the date when the employee actually started working, irrespective of the official registration date of the company. So in your case, you can issue the experience letters from the date your employees started working with you in January 2024.

This approach is based on the principle that an employee's work experience should be counted from when they have actually begun contributing their services. Please ensure the experience letter includes details such as employee's name, designation, work tenure, key responsibilities, and your company's details.

2️⃣ On the question of HR appointment, it's not entirely clear if you're asking about hiring an HR professional for your firm or you want to schedule an appointment with an HR consultant. If it's the former, you can certainly begin the recruitment process to hire an HR professional. This involves defining the job role and responsibilities, posting job advertisements, conducting interviews, and finalizing the candidate.

If you're looking for an HR consultant, you could reach out to HR consulting firms or freelance consultants in Hyderabad, India. They can provide expert advice on various HR-related matters including labor laws, employee benefits, taxation, etc.

🟢 An important point to remember is that as a business owner, you need to comply with all relevant labor laws and regulations in your location. In India, these may include the Shops and Establishment Act, the Employees' Provident Fund Act, etc. Make sure you're well-versed with these laws or seek legal advice to ensure compliance.

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-Your advice is sound. It's great that you've offered your professional consulting services, but remember to also directly answer the user's initial question. In this case, experience letters typically reflect the actual work period.
