Your post does not disclose what is the activity done there? whether you are paid salary? do you have a specific timing to work? how many employees/retainers are there in your organisation?. In a Non Profit organisation what is the need of employees?, In a Non Profit Organisation what is the need for paying salary? In a non Profit organisation can you ask the members to come at 9 am and be there till 5 pm? In a non profit organisation, can anybody ask for leave letter when a retainer does not come for duty?
It is a good phrase for any establishment to say that ours is an establishment which does not aim at profit. When the basic aim of Cooperative organisations is non profit but mutual help, don't they charge interest for the amount they advance? They charge more than what the other banks charge!
Therefore, if your establishment runs a business and issue bills and charges GST or other taxes, then there is an operation generating an income. In order to generate it, the organisation will employ persons and the designation, Retainers" is only a fancy designation so that they will not demand any rights conferred to them by labour laws. Therefore, please tell us exactly what you do and what is the nature of contract that you have with the establishment.

As Rightly mentioned by Madhu Sir, if you are an employee you are entitled for Maternity Benefits, otherwise not. In Aga Khan foundation I have seen employees getting Maternity Benefits

What does mean by retainer, are they employee or promtor? If they are salaried person, are eligible for all the benefits granted under Shops & Commercial Establishment Act & Rules of your state. The leave under maternity is 26 week.
