No doubt, your experience in HR functions may fetch a job in HR in some industry but if you want to move ahead in the HR stream, you need the rudders(the sticks that help the boat move forward in water) of a formal qualification in the form of MBA(HR) or MSW or M.A.(Social Work) etc.So you have taken a right decison in pursuing MBA -HR. HR is people oriented and development oriented and is treated as a special function and is not clubbed with adminitration in any well structured organisation. However, in small organisations, probably HR is also asked to look after administration.

What I understand from your work profile is that you are well acquainted with HR-Generalist profile and that you are good at it from the feed back you got.Now you want to switch over to out and out HR profile even pending your MBA-HR. You need to take the following steps to move towards your goal :

1) Revamp your CV to reflect all those skills and knowledge you acquired in HR gen-profile.

2) Refer to testimonials or letters of appreciation in CV, if any, you have recived or

3) Refer to your accomplishments in the CV

4) state in the CV that you are pusrsuing MBA-HR currently

5) Then alert your network and tell them that you are looking for HR-generalist profile or

6) Post your resume on an established job portal or in CiteHR and also look for advertisement for open market

7) Try to get into industries initially like retail or hospitality even at entry level if they offer you HR -Generalist profile since they may not be much insistent on a formal MBA at entry level.

Contnue with your MBA programme. You will surely land up with a generalist HR profile.

All the best,
