Hi im a sales officer in a bank. I got pregnant after joining the bank, this will be my 3rd baby. By right a confirmed staff will be entitled to 3months paid maternity leave. However as im still under 6months probation, i might get extended probation as i have been achieving sales target all these while. My concern is will i be entitled for 3 months or 2 months paid maternity leave? Or a unpaid maternity leave? Thanks.

This is the eligibility for claiming maternity leave.
No woman shall be entitled to maternity benefit unless she has actually worked in an establishment of the employer from whom she claims maternity benefit, for a period of not less than eighty days in the twelve months immediately preceding the date of her expected delivery.
Probation period is not mentioned in the MB Act.

1. Dear member, you have not intimated the name of the Bank in which you are working. You can also examine as to what are the terms and conditions of services in your case in case the bank in which you are working are PSUs/Govt. controlled banks.
2. From your above post, it appears that you are working in Malasiya. Therefore, if it is so, an important question will arise as to which of the Labour laws are applicable in respect of employees of your organisation employed in Malasiya.
