One of my friend from Kerala worked in one small pvt ltd Software Company(4-6 employees).

Since he got New Job in one US MNC and the next employer asked him to join without relieving letter so he did not resign and went for his native place for few days on leave. Then he called and informed to his employer that he can not continue his job with some valid reason and resigning.

He joined new company and relialized that he did mistake on his personal front for not collecting experience and relieving letter from last employer. so he sent a mail to Owner and asked for exp and relieving letter.

Since they both had good relations so employer considered his case and sent his exp & relieving in one letter but with exp & relieving letter employer has specfied that "duty with this organization therefore stands terminated".

Will this line effect on his career., it was his third company in his career.
My questions is
1. Whether to show this career in resume (six month exp only)
2. What to tell to next HR if asked about that.
3. will it impact on his career.

Dear Rekha ji,
The word 'Termination' is differ from 'Relieving'. According to the Id act 'Termination' of employment is in certain reasons as per the standing orders and service rules. Definnetly the impact on 'Termination' word in the service certificate will be a bad remark on his part. The employer already aware of this incident and he is willing to relieve him from his services, then why he has mentioned that word ? One thing you have not clear weather the candidate is on 'Contractual roll' ? Generally in some soft ware companies the position will be offered on contractual basis for certain project works, if that is the case the word 'Termination' is correct since the candidate is violating the the contract period.

Thanks Sir for replying. Since it was the startup company and having only 4-6 members and owner was the only person who was leading the entire team so he has given offer initially thesel terms and conditions. These are the main points

1. Probation for a period three months and services will be confirmed after completion of probation period but he has not confirmed the service. His employment conditions were very bad , other peoples were also crying and continously seraching for other oppurtunities.

2. Termination of your employment by either the company or yourself shall be effective one month after the receipt of written notice from either side

3. The letter which he sent across was like this,

inform u that mr x was with us from period(start-end) .having his engagement expressed with us management consider his case and decides to relieve him from his current duties and respon.. from organisation

hence duty with this organisation standsfore terminated.

The concerned person is in good company and he want to grow further so questions are

1. Whether to show this experience.

2. Can Employee ask why he has specified termination.

3. Whether this will impact to his career

4. the employee has all his salary slips and offer cum appointment letter.

5. tomorrow if he would get offer from some big company , how it would impact his career in background check by third party.

Please note that since the father of employee was not well and since the working place was very far(taking two days to travel from home town) so father denied to go back.and the same reason he specified with the employer and he agreed on that.
