Sir, I am working as a senior lab instructor in a private university. I am suffering from a genetic neuro disease called spinocerebellar ataxia, which leads to complete disability within a few years. I have been in this job for 4 years and 4 months, and currently, I require assistance to walk, and my speech is also severely slurred. It appears that I may soon lose my job. Am I eligible for gratuity and a disabled pension? My grade pay is 9300, and my gross salary is 26500. There has been no contribution to EPF as the employer is not deducting any amount. Is disability pension applicable in private universities?
Thank you.

You need to work for 5 years to be eligible for a pension, except in the case of death.
Since you are not under the PF, EDLI does not apply. You are also outside the purview of ESIC. Therefore, none of those benefits will come to you.
There is no act that forces the employer to continue to employ you when you are unable to do your job. There is no separate act for disability pension, either.
If the disease is related to your job or is an occupational disease, then you are covered under the Workman Compensation Act (not called the Employee Compensation Act), in which case you are eligible for a lump sum payment. Otherwise, you are not eligible for it.
