Why is this relevant to you?

You applied for a job as a HR Executive, you will have been given a list of your duties in that role. What exactly are you questioning here?

If you are unclear about your designation, then that is a matter for you to take up with your superiors, not us. We do not work for your organisation, so have no knowledge of the HR structure there.

The scope of generalist profile i.e. recruitment/selection/induction/admn. work like security/canteen & legal compliance i.e. P F , ESI periodic Factory's annual/half yearly returns/ IR issue .

And HR executive give support in recruitment/induction/arranging Training etc.this common Industrial practice but role and responsibility/work content may change /vary depend upon the size of organization & strategy wise .
And please ask this question to your immediate reporting officer we will give clarity and guidance to you.

I think, HR Generalist is a profile and HR Executive is a designation.
Even if you start your career as an Executive you can develop in to a HR Generalist profile, in the long run, by learning to handle various roles & responsibilities under the HR & Admin gamut of functions.
