Hi Colleagues, I am having a offer in HR from National Textile Corporation. As per review received from various sources comes to know that it is a Loss making PSU & any time it can be shut down. Also 3 PRC due from 1st Jan, 2017 will also be not applicable to NTC due to loss in last years.
But on other hand, some people says that it will never be shut down, as having a huge assets of his own & 3rd PRC will also be applicable to NTC.
I am confused, whether i will join NTC or refuse the offer. At present i am working with a MNC.
Pls advice at the earliest.

Hi,Dhritirana,
I presume you are talking up of a career in Mumbai based NTC. As far as I know, as you also are aware, NTC is a flagship group of cos. spread over textile mills all over India, ofcourse, loss making. Whether this particular Co., in question will be closed or not is anybody's guess. Similarly, whether Wage revision settlement will be reached or not is a $M question. Nobody could guarantee. Most probably unlikely. It's also true NTC group of mills, being few of oldest PSU units, are now located in prime lands in big cities as they are worth for huge values really fortune. But doesn't mean they cannot be closed down. Many units have already been declared 'sick' and closure process is on, may or may not be closed down it depends on govt's take. That apart, it's really a challenging career in HR in NTC. You'll gain enough knowledge & practices of how & what is IR & HR really mean, specifically, strikes, lockouts, retrenchment, ESI, EPF, Induction, Traning/re-training, Welfare measures, Employees' Compensation, Domestic Enquiries and may be closure formalities too etc. If your pursuit is to gain knowledge & experience, yes, it's right choice. But not the same if you aim for a career growth, in terms of financial, wish to get to know modern HR/SRM practices etc. May be, if your offer is a big leap in terms of scale/grade, designation etc, it's your choice.
