I'm taking over the current HR's position in a CA firm in India. All the processes and documents have been recently revamped. I want to see a bigger picture as to what all new things I can do to start with. Need to make a way forward. Can anybody suggest me few questions / areas that I may look into? How do I start?

Hello Navneet,
Good to see your enthusiasm. However, suggest you to study the prevailing HR system in the firm and then come out with plan to fill the gap.
You will get plenty of posts to guide on 'how to and where to start the HR functions' Please type 'how to start with HR' in the search key. It will help you.

There are very less possible gaps that I could find after studying their HR processes. I wanted some strategical ideas to make people adhere to the new system.

One of the ways to ensure people adhere to systems is to make sure all processes, are fully documented, and that all existing, and new staff are trained to use them. Compliance with the procedures then needs to be made part of each employee's performance plan, and that means everyone, from the CEO to the sweeper. Appropriate penalties need to be in place for non-compliance.
Secondly, once every process is fully documented, then you can apply for ISO 9001 accreditation. That in effect gives you a sound basis on which to work, and your organisation will be regularly audited to ensure compliance.
