I am into this consultancy business for a year now with help of free lancers. I am planning for expansion my team, I have a question though. Do I have to seperate person for business development or shall I add additional responsibilities to the recruitment consultants that I hire.

If you know the strengths and weaknesses of your existing team then based on that you can decide to add more responsibilities upon them. For example if the recruitment consultant is free for 2 or 3 hours a day and if that person is interested to do business development you can add it as additional responsibility.

How well do you know the members of your team? It may not be necessary to hire any body specifically. Ask the team to share the additional responsibility for the time being till business expands.
