Hi,
I have a very little experience in training, everyone please correct me if i am wrong.
You need to first understand the complete training process that begins with the objective of the organization --> Identification of the requisite knowlege, skills, behaviour & attitute --> Identification of the available knowlege, skills, behavious & attitue -> GAP identification--> Content developmet --> scheduling of the training --> content delivery--> evaluation of the training.
Based of the above flow there could be four type of trainings that could happen.
a) New joinees to complement selection
b) Change in the job
c) Change to the job
d) On detectiion of any deficiency
Out of these major types training requirement is misunderstood considersing the last type i.e. On detection of any deficiency.
I suggest you to understand the process completely and identity the requriement, rest of the things will be planned accordingly.

Well lets hear what the experts have to say.
TRAINING
NEED / OBJECTIVE / REQUIREMENT
THE ABOVE OBJECTIVE is gained from SURVEYS / STATISTICAL DATA.
TO ATTAIN THE OBJECTIVE, IMPLEMENTATION NEEDS TO BE DONE...
IMPLEMENTATION CONSISTS. of deciding the following:
COURSE OUTLINE / NAME: Eg, Basic computer skills , MS Office...
SYLLABUS: what is computer, etc etc ,What is word,,, in word to what extent they are going to teach u,,,
DURATION: Total 250 Hrs / xx days....
Each subject: 50 Hrs or as decided based on syllabus.
Batches :
FORMULATION OF SYLLABUS, preparation of course material
from identified reference books....
the implementation , identify trainers , train them first,
then start off with the course...
