Dear Scheeba,
Give us little more information. You are from what country? What is the nature of your industry? What type of professionals you wanted to train on "Instructional Design and Content Development"? Who would be their target audience? On what subjects will they develop their content?
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar

Hi Dinesh / Atul,
Thanks for your inputs. Just to answer your query Dinesh, I'm working in the HR domain in India for the past 7 years as an HR Business Partner. I wish to enrol into a certification program myself for enhancing my L&D knowledge. Just wanted to know which one would be best for that.

Dear Scheeba,

If essence of pudding lies in eating then essence of training lies in its ROI and not on how the contents are designed. To conduct the ROI centric trainings, no certification is required. You can do it even in your existing profession. In your seven years in HR, you must have attended some training programmes. Find out whether ROI could be measured for those trainings. This evaluation of the past trainings or the trainings that you will do in future, will be far more valuable than any certification course!

Most of the TTT courses, particularly done by the hi-fi training MNCs are trainer centric. Rather than ROI, lot of emphasis is given on presentation skills of the trainer or what trainer should do or does not do. In the bargain the very fact that the staff training is conducted to bring organisational change is forgotten. Upshot of this misplaced focus is that India does not have sufficient case studies on ROI on training. Where you would like to be? Whether to be with the larger crowd or stand out? The choice is yours!

Thanks,
