Is arrears applicable for overtime wages as well? i am an employee in a MNC and we get arrears but not for overtime so is this applicable or not?

Generally, on OT also arrears is paid because when your salary is increased retrospective date you are entitled to get arrears on each component of your salary including overtime unless otherwise there is an agreement contrary to it.

You should provide full details in order for us to be able to respond correctly. Your mail is not clear with respect to certain things like: What kind of MNC are you working for - are you in a factory or in non-factory environment - like software? Are you in a 'managerial' / supervisory level? etc. Overtime is not applicable to supervisors or managers and not applicable for people in software companies etc. Some appointment letters clearly indicate this as well. But even if not mentioned, only those working in a factory or people working in Housekeeping, Security etc would be eligible for overtime.
