Hi Meghana,

Horizontal Integration:--
it is known as job rotation, it is a job enlargement method whereby employees are shifted between various comparable jobs in an effort to prevent boredom and boost morale.

Horizontal integration is found in the way all HR activities feed into each other and support each other. Such activities as Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Reward Management must be tailored is such a way that each feeds into and is in turn supported by the other.

Vertical Integration:-- The integrating of successive stages of the production and marketing functions under the ownership or control of a single management organization.

Vertical integration on the other hand refers to the way these HR activities should support and fit neatly with the overall organizational activities. Vertical integration is the key role in linking the goals of the organization. In other words HR activities must also fit and move in the same direction with the organizations mission and vision.

This is as per my knowledge

Regards,

Narayan
