I am newly joined HR in manufacturing company my last experience was in recruitment. Our company comes under Factory Act. Currently we have 12 workers and 5 Staff members. We pay Rs.5500/- pm to each worker as starting salary. Is it right? Please tell what should be minimum wages for worker.

Minimum wages for your establishment will be based on the nature of manufacturing activity you conduct. So please provide the nature of your product.

You are in Navi Mumbai. You are in manufacturing company.
Navi Mumbai is in Zone I. Zone I rates are applicable to you.
In manufacturing, if you are not falling under any of the schedule industries as listed out of 65, to you rates of factory (residuary) are applicable.
If you are falling under any one of the schedule industries, then the rates applicable to such industry are applicable to you. E.g. your is an engineering unit, the rates of engineering are applicable to you.

For your ready reference I am attaching herewith revised minimum wages rates in zone I of certain selective industries as worked out my me.

Thanks a lot for helping me. Our company is bakery machine manufacturer i.e all equipments comes from china here we are just assembling them and quality check is done. So for worker salary my doubt is cleared. What should be salary for Staff. We have account manager (1) working since two years, purchase cum admin executive from two years, and i have joined recently,
