Dear all,
I made a blunder of leaving a stable job in less than 4 months for a job that is giving me double the salary. However within 2 weeks I was advised by people here that the culture here is not good and life is very difficult over here and job security is not there. Plus I have signed a bond with my present employer for 3 yrs which amount to 2 lakh rs. Also the company puts me in probation for 6 months and the appointmnent letter says company can terminate me during probation period, however if i have to leave the company i have to pay them three month salary. This is in addition to the bond amount. I want to talk to my previous company if they can take me back as they have not yet found replacement. I also can work there for a long period also but can i leave my present company in these circumstances. Please help. I am very tensed. also i feel that more time i spend in this company more difficult it would be for me. or is it that I am already trapped. Pl help.

Hello,
Well I see no reason why you leave your present company. Are you personally facing any problem here or is it that only your colleagues are scaring you. You work diligently and give your best. Also if you want to leave the company you can always do so giving the bond amount.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your reply. At present I dont have that much money and its only some 10-12 days in my job. The company has not incur any cost in my training as I already had 5 yrs experience. I understand that if I stay here for some time I may have problem but If I leave in less than a month that too not for higher salary but half the salary, will I still have problem?

Dear Pon
I want to say that company can abort without any liability for first 6 months, However if i have to leave (not six months but less than one month), i have to pay 3 months salary. Also when I signed the appointment letter, I had already resigned from my previous company and had no option but to sign.

Hello Abhi,
With all the above mentioned posts, I could not make out why do you want to leave the company?? is it because your colleagues are saying??then my dear think about it why these guys are still working there...if they are recommending to opt out of the bond or leave the company then don't you think they all should also do that first... don' follow advice of people blindly, you know all of them since last 12-15 days....
And when you accepted the appointment letter, in a way you accepted all the conditions mentioned there...the company did not force you to sign the bond...leaving within a month or 6 months..the company will ask you to pay the amount once they have your signatures on all the required documents..
What are you running from i would like to know that first, before giving any further suggestions....

Hello abhi2017,
I see 3 issues in your Posting.
1] Listening to others & making your decisions.
2] Comparing--WITHOUT THE FULL FACTS--between 2 opportunities; basically a half-baked decision structure/attitude & failure to "Look BEFORE you Leap".
3] Some details you mention are EITHER MISCONSTRUED OR MIS-REPRESENTED--to say the LEAST.
Coming to each of them......
1] First ASK those who tell you about the second company 'WHY' do they say what they say--based on WHAT experiences? YOU DECIDE if those reasons apply to you.
To give an analogy: If you have serious financial problems @ home, 'maybe' you will stick to the second company because you need the money to fulfill your responsibilities--irrespective of whatever any stories you may hear?
From another perspective, Archna said it right: why are they still working there, if the situation were so bad? There can only be TWO reasons--I am sure you can understand them, since you do seem to be quite intelligent.
2] Like Pon & Archna mentioned, IT'S YOU WHO SIGNED the Offer Letter. So IT'S YOU WHO SHOULD FACE THE CONSEQUENCES. If you wanted to raise all the queries that you NOW raise--reg probation, etc--you should have done them THEN & BEFORE you signed.
3] You First Posting says--".........leaving a stable job in less than 4 months for a job that is giving me double the salary"--thereby IMPLYING that you resigned from the First job AFTER you got the present company's Offer IN-HAND. But later--in response to Pon--you say "........when I signed the appointment letter, I had already resigned from my previous company and had no option but to sign". NOW WHAT'S THE TRUTH? And the COMPLETE TRUTH?
Like Archna mentioned, the reasons for leaving the current company don't sound very convincing & logical & straight-forward. In fact, I would like to go one step further.........but also would like to desist from commenting further, since I wouldn't like the focus to get shifted.
Pl respond with FULL & COMPLETE FACTS if you want this Forum to give you practical & ethical suggestions/advice.

I was employed with a very big company but I worked there for only 3 months and I got an offer from my present company and due to greed and lure of double the hike in my salary, I accepted this offer. I have signed a bond with them for 3 years. When I joined here I didnt feel very good about the culture here, however what I heard from my colleagues is that:
1. There is no concept of appraisal and increment in the company
2. After every three months the company comes out with a list of underperforming employees and they are asked to leave
3. Chairman of the company has even slapped some employees a few time
4. People even at the level of VP are asked to leave without any reason
Colleagues from my previous company says that they might take me back. Although my previous salary was not good but atleast peace was there and I could have worked there for a longer duration if I didnt get greedy for money.
Now I want to ask that I dont have that much money right now which is the bond amount. However HR told me before signing the bond that it is just a formality, we do not encash this bond.
I have worked here for only 15 days, what if I work for one month and abscond without taking salary. Wont that be enough compensation as till now company hasnt incur any money on me and also I have not taken any salary also from them
