Even i had done my summer project with B.P.C.L. on the topic employee satisfaction survey
I had to interview and get the questionnaire filled by the clerical and the labour staff at the corporate office as well as had to visit various B.P.C.L. Locations

i m doin this survey for NTPC.
i m bit confused in designing a questionnaire as i had thot of dividing the questions under various sub heads. what do u recommend sub heads or the way u had made ur questionnaire.

Have a word with your guide and get his feedback on this questionnaire
find out what aspects he/she wants you to focus on, in this Survey
Find out by talking to other employees, just casually, about what do they think is not good about this co. or what is good
U'll then get an idea of how u can prepare ur questionnaire
If ur taking a sample size for the survey, then include open ended questions also in ur questionnaire
Have face to face talk with the employees and u'll be in a better position to understand what satisfies them, what r their complaints, what r their recommendations to improve the working conditions

Hi Sajil,
nope its not a standardised questionnaire
During my summer training, i had a word with my guide and he wanted me, to get employee feedback on certain aspects such as training, performance appraisal, VRS Scheme of the co., etc.
So accordingly, keeping those aspects in mind i had prepared the questionnaire
i read various books and used other sources, as well, to understand how to prepare the questionnaire.
It took me around a week to prepare the questionnaire itself
What details u wanted to know

i did talk to my mentor and he said it would be more appropriate to make the questionnaire into various sub heads..
i do have a list of variables bt still confused in draftin a questionnaire.
there is hardly any interaction with the employees as its a govt company..nobody has time...sample size wud be 90 to 100 approx.
can u suggest sum questions regarding work life balance..

Even mine ws a govt org. but wat i did ws i tld my guide to give me some references of some employees whom i can talk to

also i approached some employees from my dept as well, and spoke to them told them i ws a trainee and required their cooperation.and from them also i got some referances in other dept as they had frendz in other dept too.

u just need to approach people talk to them tell them u have taken this project in hand. start from the department ur in

im sure they will cooperate and help u

ill post some questions on work life balance

if ur mentor wants u to include subheads in ur questionnaire then go ahead with it

what subheads he wants u to includes

my questionnaire has questions on:

1.)Training and workshops

2.)Physical working conditions

3.)Benefits and facilities

4.)Rewards and incentives

5.)Appreciation

6.)Career opportunities

7.)Promotion policy

8.)Performance appraisals

9.)VRS (Voluntary retirement scheme)

12.) Employee Grievances

13.) Trust

14.) Disparity

thank u so much..i would be including all these aspects..and leaves n holidays..non statutory benefits etc..
wat kind of question can i frame..
i had thought of using Likert scale only.. rest u suggest..
surely i wil try to speak to employees n gather info.
my mentor wants atleast 3 to 4 questions under 1 sub head.
i m jus tryin to make questions only..
