An employee gets salary of Rs.3,000/- per month. He worked in deepawali. Act says Double wages. how much amount he will be paid for the particular day?
From India, Coimbatore
Hey Subra,
PM Salary : 3000/-
P Day Salary : 3000/26 days = 115 (rounded)
P Hour Salary : 115 . 8 hours day = 14
So double salary for No hours worked on Diwali = (X hrs worked x 2) x (14) i.e P hour salary
Hope that is helpful.

If employee works on a paid holiday he needs to be paid thrice the rate and not double. Regards, Jagdish Vasta

R A PATIL,
Provision of grant of festival holidays are governed by either of these Acts i. e. State Shops Act or State Industrial Establishment ( National & Festival Holiday and Casual & Sick Leaves) Act. First examine which of the Act is applicable in your case & then go through this provision to see in what conditions we to grant holidays.
