Hi to All,
I come across a situation where a candidate applied for a job n saying that he has 3 year of work experience in the organization but he does not have any experience certificate from past employer because he was not working directly on the company' pay roll, but he is showing current employer certificate where he is working from past 1 year.In this case what should i consider??
I will appreciate for your feed back.
Thank you in anticipation
Thanks and Regards

Hi Mithilesh,
If he is not having experience certificate, he will atelast be having some proofs like offer letter where his date of joining will be mentioned, salary hike letter, atleast payslip which shows that he has worked in that organization.

Hi,
Does the ONE year certificate show that he has the skills that he claims to have?
Can we NOT check with the previous employer with whom he was working, though not as a direct employee?
If he was working through a contractor or an agency (which is, hopefully NOT his present employers), then can that agency not certify his employment through them with the principal employer?
In any case have you found him suitable? If yes, why not take him, observe him during the probation and take a hard decision at the end of the probation, if need be? After all what is the probation period provided for?
Is he going to exercise skills that may endanger human life or a misapplication of the skill is likely cause damage to company's property in any way? In such a case, it is better to not engage him.
Will this help you handle the situation as a HR man?

I agree with the previous posting. You can start doing some background checking. Call up his previous place, talk to his colleagues because at times his workmates maybe helpful much more than the previous employer.
You can conduct your interviews and check on his job knowledge to see whether he can be fitted in to the Job Description & Specification.

Hi Hiral,
You can take experience letter either from contractor or from the company where you are working .only you have to convince them that he can write in your experience letter that you are working on contract basis.
so i don think they will have any problem in giving you letter
Thanks and regards
