Dear All,
We have been giving Sodexo till last month. But our Mgmt have decided to stop that. So I need to add that amount in the CTC. I need to know whether there is allowance under which the employees can have tax exemption. Pls Clarify as soon as possible.

1. Conveyance is exempted upto 800/- p.m. i.e. 9600/- p.a.
2. HRA upto 50% of Basic Salary or Actual paid whichever less is exempted
3. LTA if as per IT rules - once in block of two years with a option to carry forward to next block. As per current supreme court decision no need to submit travel proof only on declaration basis.
4. Medical Allowance is exempted upto Rs.15000/- p.a. on production of bills.
5. Uniform Allowance is exempted but it can not be attire allowance has to be for uniforms.
Thats it nothing more for salaried people as far as i know.
Thanks

Hi Brajesh,
Pls note that though the Supreme Court has given its verdicts but the same has still not been ratified by the Income Tax Organisation. A notification from them is still awaited. Hence for the time being the LTA rules are in force relating to submission of Proof..
