Hi,
As u have mention that there should be 8 sick, 8 calual and 8 earned leaves in addition to 10 or 11 national holidays..
is leave management guided by companies act or this is ur company policy??
we are provided with 28 EL ... here no division is given.
moreover, at some places only 12 paid leaves are allowed along with sick leaves...
i wanted to know that how many leaves (min) d org has to avail to its employees under companites/ factory act
kindly gv ur views on this..

Hello,
I have a query in this regard that how to manage CL, SL and Eearned Leave.Like if an employee takes 1 day leave will it be treated as CL/ SL? and if he takes more than 2 days leave can it be treated as EL?
Then if CL and SL gets exahsted and still employee takes leave for 1 day then will it be LOP or it can be adjusted with EL.
Please confirm me what is the basic line of distinction between CL, SL, EL.
Waiting for you early reply.
Thanks

HI Chatterjee,

I would like to explain you with an example,

Say emp-A (as senior Engineer) joined the company in Jan 2008 probably before 15th of Jan,

for that month we will have almost 1.5 days to his leave credit (i.e - 0.5 days of EL, CL, SL)

if he avails 1 day of leave due to sickness, he can apply for 0.5days of CL and 0.5 days of SL (EL cannot be taken as half day)

If he takes 1.5 days of leave during the month of Jan, then 0.5 days becomes LOP for emp-A.

This is being followed as a precautionary measure since as we directly credit 24 days of leave in the begining of the year and if the emp plans to leave by may he might exhaust all the leave and this will not hold good for the company.

And as EL can be encashed or carried forward and SL could be carried forward as special SL everyone feels comfortable with this.

every last month of the quarter, employees will be credited with 3 days of leave 1 - EL, 1-Sl, 1- CL; and the unused leave gets accumulated in his a.c.

Hope this might answer your query incase if you need any clarifications pls do revert back.
Many Thanks.

Thanks Priya for you info,
I would give you a clear picture which our Company has i.e. 6 CL 6 SL and 12 EL.Now on prorata basis it is coming 2 every month,so if an employee take more than 2 leaves in a month will it be LOP?
Second, how do we calculate EL(is it more than 2 days leave is calculated as EL?) and CL and SL can be taken for one to two days only?IF CL and SL gets exausted then can it be adjusted thru EL, if so then the employee have to take leave every time for more than 2 days to avail EL?
Can you help me solve this query?
Thanks
