Dear Friends,
I am working as Sr.Executive Hr in a sofware company.
My Sr. Manager has given me an assignment to set the objectives for all the employees based on the JD, Job resposibilities, designation , department and Position. I need guidance on this.
If somebody give me the pool / source to find the objectives based on the above mentioned criterias , it will be helpfull.

Dear Mr.Revasuja
Genrally this is a common practice that goal is set by the immediate uperior to whom he reports and not by HR. Because the boss knows better the work priority and challenges. In case your boss want you to set goal better you try to make him convince the idea otherwise you can organise a meeting of employee, his boss and HR person and set goals by discussions

Dear Suja,
In order to set the objectives. You can adopt the following procedure:
1. Meet with your respective department / Functional heads and have a clear process understanding to begin with
2. Understand the different functions in the department and analyze the actual role / Functionalities of the associates at various levels within the department to see if they are in line with the JD for that particular position
As an HR person you can only set generic Objectives In-line with the follows:
Work Quality
Initiative
Attitude
Communication Skills
Dependability / Commitment towards work
On the technical / Functional front, the objectives has to be necessarily set by the respective managers and you can review it based in the actual role of the associate.
Hope this is of some use to you.
