Hi All,
I partially agree with Akash that the tax exemption on meal voucher is likely to be withdrawn soon. we need to watch Pranab Mukherjee implementing the Direct tax code.
Most of you have a canteen in your premises. why take the risk of vouchers as mentioned by many? why not provide meals to employees in canteens. traditionally, factories have been doing this without raising as many queries / concerns. I would suggest you use a technology solution for the same which can infact help your employees as well as the company. Uma 09920 446759 should be able to provide you a better insight. we implemented their solution a few months ago and feel completely taken care of. Time we focused on better aspects of HR.

Dear All,
Till today, Meal Vouchers are tax free upto Rs.100 per day ( Rs.50 per meal) & there's no specific limit in Tea & Light Snacks.
It is totally beneficial for the employees who are paying taxes & meant for saving tax.
You may contact me, for sodexo voucher details.

I don't understand using SODEXO for all.Just understand the basic economics. The number of step of traders chain, the things get costlier. This is not for us.Just pay simply tax.In your pay fixation reduce the amount of meal amount.
on sodexo
(1)SODEXO company is for making profits Its not for serving people so on the amount of SODEXO coupons includes their shares of profits.Just say 22 % operating Margin.
(2)This service included in SERVICE TAX so,government gets Its share @ 12.5 % indirectly.
(3)You will get all things on MRP so you surrender your right to bargain.Because those who accepts SODEXO Coupons they never accepts coupons @bargain price.
(4)If you encash it with shop keeper, shop keeper deduct 15-20 %
Maximum Income tax rate is @30 % and Is cheaper than this all.
It is also good for our country giving INCOME TAX than other Company make profit from YOU.

Sodexo Meal Pass is given as meal/food benefit to employees. You can give upto Rs 50 per meal, that is to say Rs 100-Rs 135 per day x no of working days in a month - say 22. hence you can offer Sodexo pass worth Rs 135 x 22 per month to employees irrespective of grade. but if you want to maintain some hierarchy then you can start with 100 at grade 1 and go upto Rs 135 at higher levels.

Dear Yash, We are using Sodexo vouchers but the calculation you have shown is not correct. It is a way to offer Meal benefits to employees which is flexible and tax friendly as well. The company pays not more than 3-5% to provide a very good benefit to employee that helps in employee motivation & retention. Employee also save from 10% to 30% of what they get which is a added advantage. Sodexo is also accepted at restaurants and fast food chain which helps in using them.
Hope this helps..
Thanks
