Dear Vijaya,
Your findings about hiring and firing records of IT Companies are great.
It would have been better if you had included the records of some more like Infosys, NIIT Technoloties, and some big ITES companies like Genpact, Convergys .....etc.
Thanks for the information.

Hi Vijaya,
Wish you a very happy new year 2008! and thank you for compiling this much valuable information about the IT companies.
Here there are the following issues about the Top most firing IT companies:
1. Reference/background check and performance issues.: As one is aware that many IT professionals fudge their profiles in terms of the skill sets and companies worked with and therefore it is a largely ethical issue. The firing is inevitable and should be! otherwise how does one inculcate the culture of the high performance organization and be ethical and vibrant as it comes from the people of the organization.
2. If the company loses a bid on the project like Accenture - then how does one justify the overheads with no work for the professionals. Here there is a issue on re-training and learning the new skill sets which many professionals may not be inclined to.
As you rightly pointed it out these are high risk companies to work with - well i look at it this way - there is a tremendous opportunity and challenge for the HR professionals to a make a difference in terms of implementing the HR practices/initiatives and learn to make these companies a secure one!.

Hi Mam,
i feel you are a right person who can answer my query..
One of my friend is very talented and has done MBA(HR) from a prestigious MBA Institute got campus placed to some company and due to some circumstances joined HP on Third Party Rolls, now he is liking the job but looking at the kind of credentials he feels out of place sometimes when he see the batchmates earning so and so much and at so and so places....
Getting confirmed on the Payrolls is a difficult option as there are seniors who are already working on Third Party Rolls and hoping for the conversions...
What shall he do...What kind of career growth he has...Should he think of leaving HP where he is actually getting lot of job satisfaction or continue?
will be really greatful if you'll give some insight...
