we are facing same problem in pf .one employee who left our company on 02.01.2017, now we have to exit same but i am not exiting this, because of this employee's Date of birth missing in Unified portal.
according to missing data we have to send the data to PF office missing option wise (i.e. DOB,DOJ,Father's name,Marital Status,Qulification,Gender,relation, etc.)
Please suggest me

if the employee joins somewhere else, then it will get updated by that employer, and will get updated in your login also,
if the employee opts to withdraw the funds, then department will update the missing details before settlement of claim.
recently we are facing some trouble, where dob or doj is missing or wrong, and the employee has 10+ yrs service, now the department is asking the original form 5 submission records / acknowledgement to update, otherwise they accept only two documents for correction , 1) birth certificate issued by any govt body, 2) education certificate , where name, dob and fathers name is mentioned clearly.
mere submission by employer for update is not working, as if the data get a fraction of difference from their own maintained form 9, they reject the whole application.

Up to my knowledge, there is one option called missing details, where list of employees whose details are missed out is shown,you can update through that. Or there is one Annexure that is available on epf website after 21st of each month. Please download and fill the missing details. Uploading it in the same format or submitting to the respective EPF office will solve the issue.
