Richa is right as Humane Resources is different field all to gather than HR module in SAP which deals with technical aspects of HR systems. But you can do better as SAP consultant if you have good knowledge of HR functions like C&B, Attendance/Leaves, Statutory-PF/ESI/Bonus/Gratuity/WCA and other Acts & Performance Mgt. Sys. and recruitment system and maintenance of CV Database plus MIS required on regular basis.

HR specialist gets more enabled and facilitated with SAP due to sophistication. As a HR specialist your decisions are facilitated with the process speed and options enabled by SAP.
If you know HR you would be able to use SAP better. But if you know SAP without HR knowledge you would end up working on a small portion or module but not be able to reap full benefits of having SAP.
Please make your caeer choice based on your savvy area.

I have 3 yr experince in HR Generalist profile .But i am really intrested to go for some course in SAP - HR . But you know there are number of institutes in the market which offer these kind of courses plus job assurance in the same.
I have heard that SAP with siemens certification is the best one and the industry values it. Kindly suggest as you yourself is a SAP HR Consultant. You can guide people like us .

I am an HR/Recruiting Manager. An HR generalist position is going to give you many more opportunities becuase there are various areas in which you can specialize over time (benefits, Human Capital, analytics, acquisitions, employee relations, budgeting, etc). However, you will make much more money as an SAP consultant and will be in higher demand.
Best of luck with your decision. Remember, you can always change your mind later :)

This thread is very interesting and as well as good guidance for SAP-HR Aspirants.I would like to some guidance from SAP seniors,as being a fresher will it help in my career or should I achieve some relevant experience in HR.
If I pursue SAP course from Siemens does it provide any kind of placement assistance.
