Hi Akshitha,
SAP -HCM adds to your capability as HR person to implement and maintain various standard processes using SAP. If you aspiring to develop as an HR person than you should be conversant with basics of HR as SAP only helps in implementing the same. On the other hand if you get trained enough to troubleshoot issues arising out of implementation of SAP, you can also develop as a SAP consultant. As a SAP consultant, you should be capable enough to handle multiple queries and provide software support to users apart from regular maintenance of the SAP application in your organization.
So, your career will depend on the way you choose and of course your skill level will matter.

HI Akshita
Nice to know your interest in SAP HR module.Executives with HR domain knowledge only will pursue SAP HR module since they know the root of HR.I would strongly recommend to go ahead and learn SAP .In the beginning you may have to work as a SAP End user for about 6 month to 1 year ,then ur prospect of a SAP HR consultant will increase.for any further details u can call me on my cell 9920617292 or mail me at saptutorhr@gmail.com.

hi Akshita ,

Your question is really good .

The reality in SAP market is that its very tough for a Fresher to get an opening , as Companies generally look for Experienced people as its easy for them to put the person directly on a project with their clients .

But for a Fresher , they have to train them and he/she has to get the required Project experience to handle the Responsibilities of a SAP Consultant .

Lot of people resort to putting fake experience as the requirement demands it , but its not a good practice as nowadays the Employers have a stringent background check to catch these offenders .

My advice will be to undergo SAP Certification from a reputed SAP partner and learn and practice SAP as much as you can .

Also , Software field works on Reference , this is especially true for SAP , so if you have friends working in companies , take their help and forward your resume through them , you will have a better chance to get an interview call .

Also, its not that SAP Companies do not hire Freshers , they do but these are limited , they generally recruit from reputed colleges or Internal placements .

so if you are planning to make your career in SAP , then you will have to dedicate your efforts on learning and mastering SAP , there are lot of forums , books , documents available to help you in this .

Hope this answers your questions , ALL THE BEST .
