Hey Mahima

You are working as a IT recruiter. Could you please tell me what do IT recruiter do? someone told me that its a very good job and very comfortable job you can get good salary 30k to 40k after one year of experience in US or UK shift and its not a calling profile like BPO.

I also found ans for this on yahoo and that is totally different I ma pasting link here please read that ans and tell me is it right or not and in reality what is the work of IT recruiter?

and ans on yahoo is:

Working as an IT recruiter, you would be on the phone all the time in the morning and night. You will take calls from people interested in jobs, and clients looking for workers. Many of your current employees will call you about job problems, and you often have to get to them during the evening. You will have pressure to get as many people working.

I would say the future as bright since IT is in demand, and it's a crappy job. So bad that people who know nothing about IT can get a job in it. It's a job that nobody really wants.

Hello Manish,

I don't know what prompted you to go on adding your posts one after the other...

The reason there was no answer to it was perhaps because the people who viewed it might not had the answers and there were others who didn't view it...

Always remember one thing, irrespective of what career path you take, patience is the key to success..

to answer your queries-

IT recruitment and BPO are two different job roles but are quite similar. Both involves talking to people and solve their doubts or check them for desired position.

So ideally once you're given an IT position for which you're to source candidates, you'd have to find resumes using job portals or social media sites and then contact those candidates and talk to them regarding their interest in the job and also conduct the telephonic interview if required.

IT people are required everywhere and hence perhaps you might be handling many positions.

Every job has its own pros and cons.

Positive of handling the IT Recruiter's position is you get profiles and candidates easily.

However again would like to emphasize that unless you give and extra effort and know exactly what the client wants, you'd never be able to close a position which will add to your frustration.

Secondly you asked if or not you'd be on telephone... Well we can't just have a look at CV and get to know if or not the person is fitting in the job role or if he's interested in this.... You'll have to speak to candidates and believe me it will only add to your knowledge and experience.

Thirdly, the career path...

It depends. After handling IT recruiter's position with some consultants for few years, you may apply in the IT firms to handle their internal recruitment needs. Slowly you can progress to Recruitment Head.

Hope this helped you.
