Sir,
I am currently working as an executive HR. I have a following question:
1. If an employee is not being confirmed during his probation period, does this means an automatic extension of probation period? 2. And if an employee leaves the job without serving a proper notice, not being confirmed but his confirmation is due, than company rules of holding his salary is fair or not?

hello !!
I think the extension of probation and leaving company within probation period with / without notifications depends upon the regulation / protocol of that company. Just check the HR rules of your company and definitly you'll get replies here.
the above mentioned things are based on my own experience.
thnx n regards,
sandeep.

Hi,
Prob period is clearly mentioned in the offer of appointment letter. Strictly speaking after six months, HR dept must give a confirmation ltr but nowa days some companies are just like that keeping it off for no reason. The employe however continues to enjoy the PF or appraisal or the usual terms.
So even if they don't give Confirmation ltr don't worry. It is understood by default that it is confirmed otherwise they have to give you a probation extension ltr.
Many companies are evading this so as to avoid the appraisal without hike. Many companies are sticking to Jan/Jun appraisal. It is funny and foolish.
Every month few new joinees come and they complete 6 months and appraisal has to happen continuously. They cannot wait for Jan/Jun.
Please check with a trustable HR person in your company.
