Dear All,
Our lady staff has undergone Maternity leave and after 12 weeks expiry of her Maternity Leave she is further extending her leave. She having SL & EL. Are u possible to adjust extending her leave to SL & EL. Please provide advise.

You can permit her to take her PL in combination to maternity leave. SL can also be taken provided she is actually sick. As per Maternity Benefit Act, she can take one more month paid leave in continuation to maternity leave of 12 weeks if she is suffering from any problem in connection with delivery and for this only a certificate by her doctor is sufficient. That means she can take around 16 weeks leave without utilising her PL and SL balances in the company. Therefore, there is nothing wrong in granting her PL or SL in addition to 12 weeks leave already availed.
