Hi All,
I have prepared a vb code which can help unprotect any MS-Excel work sheets (Password protected and specially when we forget the passwords).
I was just wondering, if I can share it across. I am sure, that can help many of us, however, the challenge is, there is a possibility of people misusing for unlawful or unethical purposes.
Hence, request your inputs on this, if I need to share it or not.
Majority of the decision would be considered!
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Dikshit,
It should be completely your decision of sharing this vb file or not but other way you may share this file by putting appropriate disclaimer like don't misuse or unauthorized access prohibited.
You may also share this file basis on request received from member of this forum on their personal email ids.
Thank you.

Dear Dixit,
Its really a great work done by you. Before publishing it you can explore the possibility of making a log of persons breaking the password and using the data with date and time.(even if some one give wrong details, we can find out by seeing the date and time). Or you can promt for any word in the document to open it so that only related persons can open.

Dear TGS,
Good to see HR Pro doing core IT stuff !
You may share the file basis on request received from member of this forum on their personal email ids
where an undertaking is given for bonafide use, not to misuse or try to gain unauthorized access.
Your sharing the file should be with disclaimer as advised by Rakesh and usage data shared by beneficiaries as suggested by Binu.

Hello Dikshit T G S,
I second RB--it's nice seeing HR persons doing IT stuff.
Coming to your main query, the suggestion of some members to share it ONLY on specific request on an individual-basis would be better--that way you at least have control with WHOM you shared it. What they do later, frankly, will anyway NOT be in your control.
If this is OK with you, pl mail it to me on:
But looking @ it in another way, crooks always CAN come-up with their own set of ingenuity. Else, I guess the Cyber-crime Police would be out-of-work :-)
When computers were invented, it was to make everyone's jobs easier--but whoever thought THEN that we would end-up dealing with SO MANY Anti-Virus, Anti-spy, Anti-phishing........Anti-this, Anti-that........Programs now?

Hello dixit,
We get knife in the market easily but only 1 person from crore use it for threatening because his view looking towards knife is wrong.
Likethat your post will be used for better purpose only.
If you are not posting it to control that 1 person whose view towards your post could be wrong you are stopping yourself from helping others.
So please post it..........
