Can any one tell me how many leave can we implement according to Tamil Nadu labour laws.we take care of ground handling for one airline.our staff includes customer service agent,loaders,cleaners,helper,driver .we want to implement leave policy for them and also want to know whether we should allow them or according to labour laws are they eligible to get leaves on probation period.(6month)

As per the law there is a mandatory 4 days of leave which are
1. Jan 26
2. May 1
3. Aug 15
4. Oct 2
Apart from these, the company may choose any of the listed holidays as per their convenience from the appendix in the tn.labour website with a minimum of 9 holidays (4+5).
# The employee in organisations are eligible for Casual leave of 1 day per month from the date of joining.
# Once the employee completes 240 days of work then he/she is eligible for earned leave(in the succeeding year) of 1 day for every 20 days of previous year's work.

From your post, I infer that yours is an establishment under the TN Shops& Establishments Act,1947. There is no distinction of persons employed under the Act with reference to their staus of employment such as permanent, probationer, temporary etc. As such all the provisions under the Act relating to conditions of service uniformly apply to one and all except the exempted categories. The TNSE Act prescribes three kinds of leave viz., Casual Leave, Sick Leave and Privilege Leave each @ 12 per annum. Besides, the employees shall also be allowed 4 National Holidays and 5 Festival Holidays every year under the TN Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act,1958. You can understand the preliminaries of procedural compliance like approval and calculation, carry forward of unavailed portion of certain leave, registers and forms to be maintained etc., by going thru both the Acts.

Am working tiles manufacturing and selling company, factory located in out Tamilnadu, in Tamilnadu we have register and branch officer available, here we taking care of sales and marketing only, in this regard our company comes under trading segment. Can you suggest me the leave policy of trading company in Chennai, Tamilnadu circle. (How many days leave eligible (SL, CL and EL)). I have received message that trading company have no leaves expect Sundays, is't correct.
