Dear Friends,
We are taking computerised pay slips and issued to our Team Members.
Our HR Audit qualifies that it should be signed by employee and Employer.
For any computerised printouts no manual signature is required - it is an general opinion.
If you have any views on this would would be help us our Team.
Please be specific with laws on which this can be explained.

Hi,
N Vaideesvaaran
Legally you are right that the Payslip must bear Employees & Employer's Singature.
What you can do is ( No Law Supports this)
1. Mention bleow the payslip that this is computerised generated payslip and does not require any signature.
2. Also Contact the Local Labour officer and explain him the fact and try getting confirmation for the same.

Hi,
I would like to ask both of you (N Vaideesvaaran & Maggi) how do you do your salary CASH / BANK.
If it is bank then the bank statement itself is acknowledgment receipt of salary by the employees.
Maggi you can contact any govt office and ask them about the Asst Labour Commisioners Office and that's where you can meet the Govt Labour Officer (GLO).
He will also be able to help you in solving your Labour Welfare Fund queries. or else you can pose them in the forum.

Hello All,
I would like to know whether every payslip given by the employer from the employee should be signed by both. In my organization, the pay slip is available on the internal employee portal. We can see it any number of times and take prints.

Hi All,
No known law regulates necessity of signatures on payslips. In the new dispensation of cyber law in India, most states, Courts and Commissioners have ruled in favour of signatureless 'computerized payslips provided they indicate that 'it is a computer generated slip and needs no signatures'.
Law construes it as being signed provided it is generated on official computer system with slip encryption number/slip number and Company stamp/letter pad indicating legal completeness.
Earlier years, the Labour Commissioners were not satisfied with official documents such as these without signatures. Now due to wider acceptance of computerization and automation in legal/financial and banking procedures, it has gained acceptance.
