Hi All,
Was checking out the latest happenings in the ITES industry & thus come about the new tool that NASSCOM is proposing to launch.
Wanted to know what you guys think about it.
Do you think (a) that something like this would make a difference in getting quality candidates? (b) Do you think it should be made mandatory? (c) Aren’t there enough of such tools in the industry?
(d) What competencies & skills should ITES companies be looking at while hiring freshers?
Many Thnx.

Sure Swetha.......... Nasscom has not yet launched the tool it is in the process of launching it. Right now they are in the pilot stage.
They claim to assess candidates on skills such as listening and keyboard skills, verbal ability, spoken English, comprehension and writing ability, office software usage, numerical and analytical skills, and concentration and accuracy.
In my opinion there are a lot of players in the industry who are already doing this, so there is nothing new that Nasscom is doing.
One organisation who is doing fabulous work in this area is Thomas International, especially the Bangalore wing, which happens to be the headquarters for India.
Let me know what you feel about this whole nasscom project, also tell me a little bit about yourself - in terms of what you are doing.
Take care,
Noor

Hi Noor,
Can you elaborate in details about the works being done by your company for the ITES Skill Assessment Techniques. We had contacted some of your representative in Delhi (If yours is Team Value Profiling Services), and got to know that Head Office is there in Mumbai. But you are claiming it to be in Bangalore. I am slightly confused. If you can guide for the same.
I would really be interested, if you can discuss with us the kind of work you are doing for the Skill Assessment in ITES Industry which is based on the platform of DISC.
Thanks
Rahul

Which Kelly Services are you talking about.
Sorry to be so blunt, but the office in Hyderabad is not equiped with proper infrastructure nor with any trainings that are offered.
Its just like a government office where people go for help and end up being a slave to the HR's in the office who pose as if they have a job offer right now.
Hope you understand where I am coming from.
