Hi All,
I have prepared an employee satisfaction survey in the form of a questionnaire, but i am not getting any ideas for the assessment. Even after i roll out the survey how do i calculate the satisfaction index. Since we are an organisation of 700 employees, i need your help in finding a method of assessment for the satisfaction survey. :D

well hi,
i am also doing a project on job satisfaction among employees, but in NGOs.
i am also facing the same problem as yours , as coz i have also prepared a questionarie for the survey but not clear about how the asssessment should be done.the diffrence only is in the sample size ,which in my case is 150.
i am trying and working on that and as soon as i find something i will let you know.
in the mean time if you have any suggesstions or solution regarding the topic ,please let me know.
i believe we both will be mutually benefited in that way.
so i hope you will agree too

Hi,

Earlier i had also given the same problem in cite HR, how to calculate satisfaction index. I have followed the same procedure, actually there is a specific formula for that, i hope it would be helpful to you:

for calculating the Employee Satisfaction Index is:

1. There is a five-point scale in the questionnaire based on which the employee responses range from Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, Strongly Disagree.

2. The negative and positive questions are then aligned so that the remarks are ranging from Strongly agree (5) to Strongly Disagree (1). This is just in case your questionnaire has some negative questions to ensure that the employees have simply not marked the questionnaire without reading.

3. The total number of questions with answers against each response is calculated. (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)

4. The total number of questions answered is calculated (just in case somebody has avoided marking answer for a particular question in the questionnaire) (TOTAL)

5. The TOTAL SCORE RECEIVED is calculated = (total number of responses of 5 * 5)+(total number of responses of 4 * 4)+(total number of responses of 3 * 3)+(total number of responses of 2 * 2)+(total number of responses of 1 * 1)

6. Calculate the MAXIMUM TOTAL SCORE which is the TOTAL (pt. 4) * 5.

7. This gives the INDEX which is the TOTAL SCORE RECEIVED / MAXIMUM TOTAL SCORE * 100

I just hope it works for you.

Thanks & Regards,

Monika
