Being a fresher i don't know the logical answers for these, so pls. provide me the answers for the same, so that it could help me to get prepared for interview..

• What is human resource management? - managing humans with incremental value approach and ensuring allignment of their growth with oirganisation

• What do you prefer recruitment or selection? recruitment is a process and selection one of the stage of the same

• How do you motivate your employees? with positive incentives and role models

• What is more important to you money or position? combo of both as if i will havbe position money will automatically flows

• How does you define empowerment? enabling the responsibilty and communicating the same by providing conducive enviornemnet

• How can you make use of IT in HRM? for each and evry step orf HRM from forms , formats to process and HRIS also , paper less work and SAP

• Suggest a training program/workshop for feedback skills?it dependes upon the quality of questionnaire and the person taking feedback

foe smaller group one to one feed bcak is preferred

• Why do you think HRM is important? as human is a capital and an asset to the company and that too in competitve global scenerio its difficult to find and retain apt candidates at all levels, so HRM plays an inportant role in a to Z carrer span of an individual and ensures the proper functioning of all the functions in company

• What are retention strategies? providing growth , development , enagaement activites , role change and expansion , trainings programs and famil integration are few of the prcatices for the same

• What do you mean by 360? feedback? it means feedback from all the sphere suyrrounding a person , from boss to coleagues to subo-ordinate and even vendore snad service depratments

• Which one is more better mentoring or coaching? it depends , mentoring is long terma nd generalistic , but coaching is specific and short term

• How would you terminate an employee who is not performing? by either ask him to resign or giving him termination letter , u may also give three notices before doing the same , depends

• What is the difference between personnel management and human resource management? personnel mgmt is a part of HRM which take care of salary, PF , ESI and legal issues

HRM covers everything

some also sees both as different functions

• What aspect of supervision do you find the most difficult? depends upon supervisor , work life balance may be one

• How do you motivate employees? already answered , see above

• What are the competitive challenges in Human Resource Management? attrition , work life balance , clture control and development , communication pattern are few of the challenges

There is a great danger in giving answers on-a-plate rather than guide students to find the answers on their own. If they mug up the answers and spit it out, like they do when studying for exams, there shallow knowledge would be exposed. For example, if they probe what is meant by "incremental value approach" the interviewee will be at a loss.
