Do you just need job description for a counsellor (course advisor as in institute)
What are the other position about which you will like to know?

Councellors are normally in education sector, health sector etc. With each one having to guide the prospective customer / student towards the services / courses the prospect should opt for.
For each job there would be a different set of job responsibilities...
If by councelling you mean HR councelling, please clarify...

I totally agree with ajmal about education counselors
Education counselors/ Course Counselors
Keep track of enquiries from various modes like emails, telephone and direct enquiries during exhibition and maintaining the record of the same so that feedback can be taken.
Providing information about various course to the students and guiding them about the best course which will be suitable for them.
Maintaining the record of the students joining the course and also keeping a track of the fees to be paid by the students joining the course.
Updating the students about any kind of new happening and development in the courses so that the student is informed time to time about any kind of information relating to any new courses.
If you want job description for a employee counselor it will be different from Education counselor . As Education counselor aims towards the sales and marketing of their product or course.
