Hi Minakshi,
Myself Amit Seth working with an IT company at Ahmedabad.
HR functions as a whole is comprised of so many functions. For that you must have an MBA degree with HR, then only you can switch over to core HR.
As presently you are dealing with only one aspect of HR functions. And core HR job requires so many functions.
But if you have an MBA degree with HR then definitely you can get a job with core HR. As one of my friend also worked as IT recruiter for 1 year and after that she has switched to core HR. Thats not a big task but before that you must have a sound knowledge of HR functions.
Regards,
Amit Seth.

Hi
I am sure if you are a good recruiter you can get job in any software company .Now these days every big organisation has divided whole hr in two section core hr and resourcing.
and doing recruitment from consultancy and from Company is very different .once you will join any software company you will feel the difference and if you really enjoy doing recruitment then you just continue doing this.Scope is really good for good recruiter in software company ..May be after working for certain time you can get a position of resource manager.
I hv the same exp .I have worked as It recruiter for 4 years then i joined one of my client as AM-HR and here I am learning other sphere of hr as well with recruitment as major work responsibility.
One more thing i don't have MBA degree as of now but i am a very good recruiter ..and also doing very good in HR.
So give your 100% in whatever you are doing...Thats only matter..
Thanks

Dear Minakshi,
As it is rightly indicated by most of the members here that Recruitment is not the only function of HR, however i would just like to make a point here........moving forward in todays circunmstances..........Core HR activities will be revolving around Recruitment and Retention.....and all the other function would just be supporting ...this point was also highlighted in an article in "The Week"...
so do not panic that you do not have a Management Degree..you can still get a job in HR as indicated by smitha...
I suggest just to enhace your knowledge on different domains of HR you can study and get get a degree in Management.
