Hi, Bereavement leaves are leaves allowed by the company, when the immediate relative of the employee expires. The no. of days will differ from company to company. Thanks, Kavita

Hi,
There is no such provision or law for Bereavement Leaves it depends upon the company to company or more preciously the management ethics.
Previlage leaves as defind by the law should be 18 min per years i.e one leave for every 20 days. This would not include any holidays. Moreover it depends upon the company how many previage leaves the management wants to give. There are companies giving 21 days, 27 days previlage leaves.

Hi,
No you cannot do that. Previlage leaves have to be min 18 and casual and sick leaves 12 as per labour laws. Employee is eligible for previlage leaves after completing one years of service and can be accumulated for a max. of 36 i.e previlage leaves can be accumulated for two years. For sick leaves and casual leaves it depends upon the company's policy whether it has to be carried forward or encashed or exhausted after one year.
You can see labour laws for better understanding of the conditions.

Hi,
Suresh,
As per my knowledge employees are entitled for one privilege leave for every 20 working day this is mention in factory act, But there is no information given regarding Casual leave & sick leave in Factory Act so that is not mandatory to give casual & Sick leave to employees,Its depend up on Company Policy how much Cl & Sl give or not to give to Employees .
please correct me if i am worng,

Hi Suresh,
I think there is some confusion. Minimum PL can not be 18. As per Factories Act you have to allow one leave for every 20 days of work.As a matter of fact with 52 OFFS and about 10 Holidays each year, maximum a person can work is about 300 days, so maximum 15 days of leave if Factories Act is followed. Yes if you pay more than what is provided in the Act, then it is a different matter. There is no mention of minimum leaves any where.
Similarly there is no provision for Sick leave. Yes CL are generally mentioned in Standing Orders. If you are referring to some other Act (like Shops & Commercial Establishments Act), then it could be a different situation.
