Hi, I would like to know the difference bet Learning and Devpt and Training & Devpt. What is their scope in the HR dept.? Regards, Pdcosta

I opine that L&D and T&D both are same. The only difference is in their nomenclature.
L&D (Learning) is the newer term and is used to make participants feel important, less intimated, more open and partcipative that they are not being 'trained' but 'being requested to learn'. And, it sounds better also... no!
The process and procedure for L&D remain exactly the same as you would follow for T&D. Hence, whatever you call, a Training will be a Training and will always have an important scope in the HR.

Prashant is right,
One is customer or client centered the other one is trainer centered. Just as educational establishments are moving away from concentration on teaching by the tutor to learning by the students, there is move in HR depts too.
