Dear seniors,
I am working as an HR professional for a small manufacturing Industry in Kolkata. Its a proprietorship company and dont have any structured polcy. However people working in site are frequently taking leave and everytime there is a hue and cry in the office. I am insisting the management to adhere to policies which should be communicated to my employees.
In your view what should be the ideal leave policy for this kind of orgaization. How many leave should be granted to my employees?
Awaiting for your suggestions.

Dear Friend,
In general any organization covers under Factories Act - a minimum of 7 casual and 7 sick leave ( people who are not covered under ESI scheme) and for every 20 actual working days 1 Earned leave need to be given until and unless any specific rules under West Bengal Government.
On every 1st January EL for the previous year need to be calculated and credited to the employee account. CL & SL to be credited at the begining of the year. Availing part you can restrict as per your company policies and rules ie., on every completed two month they may be eligible for 1 cl & 1sl. EL a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of 3 times in a year.
