Really a good one Dipali. Thanks However, I have a feeling that the ppt are not created by you. And, in such cases, we should really quote the source to avoid plagiarim. Have a nice day. Narasimhan

Hi Narasimhan.
This ppt is defi not created by me. In fact nothing of what I have posted so far has been created by me.
But you know how mailing groups are. This one in particular I received from a friend called Sejal who got it from her son studying in 5th grade. The son got it from a friend at school and brought it home on his pen drive just like any of his other lessons.
Now, if I come across a good thing that has been mailed to me and yet I'm unable to name the source, do I or do I not share it with others?
Or a simple thing would probably be to mention Source - Unknown. Do let me know what sounds good to you.
Best regards,
Dipali

Hello again. I just noticed similar comments on many other posts (all of whom have not claimed to have been authors of the content they have posted).
How about adding one more rule to guidelines on posting? If posting anything thats forwarded to you and you cannot find out the original source, just put it as 'Source - Unknown'.
I'm sure at least 50% of the content here is something that someone has received as a mail from somewhere, and would like to share cause its good benefit for everone at large - how would they mention the internet source in that case?
And I'm just as sure that none of these people who post such info have any intention of grabbing unwarranted limelight of being the producers/creators of that content.
Do figure a way out cause not everyone sources from the Internet, some of us do get fantastic info by eMail that we may like to share.

I agree with Ms. Dipali....coz there are so many things that are not created by us but we prefer to share with our CITE HR. Best Regards. Luza

Really this is very bad to point out who created this. This is the matter of exchanging thoughts and knowledge to each other. This is the site where we share our knowledge gained from friends and friends. Dipali it is really gud to share the knowlegeable things.

Dear,
Mr. Narasimhan is not wrong in mentioning the source of the material that many people 'publish.'
Plagiarism is the act of appropriating the literary composition of another author, or excerpts, ideas, or passages therefrom, and passing the material off as one's own creation.
His suggestion to my learned friends is simple - mention the source whenever you post another's material. This helps the original author feel happy about the work.
Remember, it could be yours one day!
Good luck to you all.

Hi
I completely agree to What Dipali has to share.
What is important is the Knowledge and not the source.
Lets be a little more open to knowledge, than making comments about things which are not really important.
I think (Nash....), has to avoid such statements. I mean it is just a thought.
I also think that if we post such comments, the other person might just get discouraged to post the details.
Thank you

Hey All!!
Someone has rated this post 5 star (I swear I didn't do it myself) and this ppt certainly deserves it. Thanks to who ever has done so.
Just for the record, I have not mentioned the original source anywhere cause I do not know, but I certainly liked it enough to share it with all.
Have a great weekend ahead!!
