competency mapping helps you in grooming resources for right career choice. this redirect the learning in a focussed manner and helps in understanding the current level of understanding for a specific competency, gaps to close and ways to close the gap.
Thus it helps the assoociate to do a PDCA loop. Plan where you stand, Do proper learning as per your plan, Check whether the gaps are addressed by evaluating against the knowledge gained and Act upon the results.
