Well, my name is Randall Cody. I am a recent college grad. I'm actively seeking an HR position in the city in which I live. It's been a difficult job hunt. I've been submitting resumes and cover letters like crazy, yet no company seems to be interested. Does anyone have any tips or ideas? Any input would be terrific and greatly appreciated.

Hi Randall Cody,

Welcome to Citehr.com and hope it's proves to be a learning experience.

Well i am from India, i may not be able to comment on job situation in your city. But i will say one thing- which is a universal theme- don't give up !!!!. I say this from my experience as i went thru similar situation...cheer up buddy..

No Company responded...well have you looked at your profile critically?..maybe youe cv isn't appealing...or have u thought what company wants..and accordingly structure your profile...believe me as a recruiter i used to get 1000 resumes a day...difficult task to sort it out..as i had to select CVs in a few seconds...so you got to structure your CV in a such manner that it catches the attention of potential recruiter..

Suggest that the opening sentence of your CV should have an objective..what do u desire...what u can do ..followed by your strengths to supplement the desired objectives..

If it still that doesn't help , please mail me your CV to structure the same.

Randal,
How's your HR networking? Are you a member of SHRM or its local chapter? Most jobs at entry level are either filled in by word of mouth or thru Campus references. You could ask your college professor to help you introduce you to companies. Also Network, Network and network, make yourself visible apart from doing your regular searches.
try monsternetworking.
Best wishes

Hello Randy,
just a nick name,
I would suggest to be to learn your own boss then look out for job.
In i-era u can start as an independent place consultant and then up next level carrer management consultant.
To get u this, if u r in developed country, there are small hr carrer management consulting firm in major city u can start contarcting their work.
Then with your own proffessional experience u can approach a big organization in your city.

Thank you all for the wonderful replies.
I am have always wondered if my resume is in the best format for presenting myself successfully. I'm new at resume building and have yet had anyone really look over it with a critical eye. I would be indebted to anyone that would be interested in giving it a look over. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. If anyone is interested in doing that for me, just make a post saying so and I'll make sure a copy is emailed out. Thanks again for any and all help.
