Ego's tricks

"One of the great dangers of transformational work is that the ego attempts to sidestep deep psychological work by leaping into the transcendent too soon. This is because the ego always fancies itself much more 'advanced' than it actually is."

-- Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson

The Tibetan teacher, Chogyam Trungpa, warned of the trap of spiritual materialism. He says we must be ever diligent to spot the ego's use of the spiritual journey to further its own ends.

We may think it's spiritual to yearn for divine connection. And yet, if the longing is to fill an emptiness inside, just how does this differ from the one who yearns for money or possessions to fill the inner void? Do we look to our spiritual practices as proof of our evolved consciousness or as protection against fears?

Any time we use spiritual disciplines to maintain our identity and security, we are not yet on the path of genuine spiritual development.

"Enlightenment is ego's ultimate disappointment."

ANyhow, gimme sometime, I will comeout with a way to know if we are having this problem or not (sometimes once pride also show up as EGO) and If we are having ths EGO problem wha to do and stuff.

Hey Sonit,
I never knew that you have this habit or writing artivcles. Good habit, Sonit.
Sonit, the way you started article was very good (pure practical). I love reading or listening to real life experiences of anyone, provided they are intrested to share. But, what I felt after completed reading your article, I cannot tell you exactly what it is lacking, but it defenitely is lacking something. I am great reader of non fiction books,so, after reading many no fiction what all I can say is, your article is lacking a bit force or drive that requires to draw the attention of the readers.
Finally Sonit, I would be very very glad If you do not misunderstand m,y above writings. I just wanted to let you know my frank feelings so that you can work on them (If you feel that they have atleast some sense :) ) and be a good article writer.
Regards, Kiran.

Kiran ..Hats off to sonit ..He has given me a direction (new one )to find solution forthe same ..problem of Ego that we all face today ..

The first Para on it enables me to think that how adamant we ourselves are to ourselves ..

which is directly linked to examples that sonit gave about his father ,brother ..

People tell us,gives us suggestion but we so adamant that we just want to do wht we want todo ..

Solu:-- What i thought today is we should atleast give athought to what people are telling us ,reason them out ..bye accepting and analysing we donot become small.. we become more logical to life ...i think i will do this and practise this to overcome my self s ego ..what do u guys say any suggestion?

Sonit ! but i have a question :- I am sorry if i offend you on this ..but i will like to share ...

here atlast you realised that yes there is something (microsoft) which has suggest you for YOUR error ...

You have REALISED it that its an ERROR and something(Microsoft)is Right.

then You should accept it and Change

Dont you think so?

What ever you told to us was your realisation ..Keep up !!

what you ultimately did was ur EGObeing just adamant for no reasons..

If you understood that what was suggested toyou was right whts the harm in accepting ya .. i know this is the most difficult thing but this how we all can overcome ..what do u say ?am i right

Summary :-

Understand the Problem

Listen to suggestion

Give your thoughts to it

analyse

be logical --useful or not

If yes USE it ..

Orelse do what youfeel is right ..

what do u say my friends ..Please help me .. and cast ur views and opinions on it ..

hey Rupa,
Thanks for your feedback,it was really good and made me feel that I can continue writing stuff.
here is the reason why i dint work on the change suggested by ms-word,it suggested me to change the title of the article which i dint want to coz i thot that this title was apt for the article, moreover it dint suggest a change for it ,just showed error and thats it, so i was left with no alternative but to ignore the suggestion.
Thanks a ton buddy for everything and especially for the summary that you had drafted.
