HI Wricha,
You can generally ask the questions regarding the candidate like
1) His potential at the given task or in the field he is selcted for.
2) His attitude at workplace.
3) His work ethic.
4) How his lead is feeling about his moving off from that company and stuff.
Generally, referrence of that candidate's lead or manager in the past company works.
