Hello rgs_mys:
The MBTI should not be used for selection according the publisher.
What about whole person assessments?
Be careful not to use Ipsative assessments in the selection process.

Hello rgs_mys:
>Thanks for the information...<
You're welcome and it is my pleasure.
>can you kindly highlight the Ipsative assessments and when they can be used?<
Ipsative assessments are wonderful for employee development. Our team assessment is Ipsative but it is not used for employee selection.
Users need to know that "some psychological tests use what is called ipsative scoring."
If a test has you rank order alternative responses we can uncover your relative preferences but, of course, we cannot compare your answers to peoples' answers.

There is a very good manual from the US DOL entitled “Testing and Assessment: An Employers' Guide to Good Practice” which I will forward to interested readers who send me an email [ bob@gatelyconsulting.com ] with 'SEND DOL REPORT' as the subject.
If readers would like to receive the 'Uniform Guidelines On Employee Selection Procedures' (UGESP) send me an email [ bob@gatelyconsulting.com ] with “SEND UGESP REPORT” as the subject. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Justice jointly have adopted these uniform guidelines to meet that need, and to apply the same principles to the Federal Government as are applied to other employers.
If readers would like to receive both reports, send me an email [ bob@gatelyconsulting.com ] with “SEND BOTH REPORTS” as the subject.
