Dear Friends
Can someone please guide me on the following policies
(a) What is the exact law for termination of absconding cases in BPO. Few companies are following the policy where a warning letter is issued on the forth day of unauthorised absence and the person can be terminated on 8th day of unauthorised absence. However, i have heard from a HR professional from a reputed company that there is an amendment in September (to the shops and establishments act) which says that the company must wait for 3 weeks before terminating an absconding employee. Can someone guide on this issue please.
(b) IS there a law regarding provisioning of CAB facility for employees working in odd shifts. Can someone provide me the URL to some site where this particular law is available??

Dear Sushil,
To terminate an employee of absconding case.. first of all you must select a number of days after which one may be terminated from the services.. and it should be stated clearly in your HR policy...
Generally companies do send a warning letter thrice at regular intervals and after that do the termination process...
Always send the warning letter with a registered post..
Warning letter must be stated clearly to Join within 24 hours of receiving the letter as well as come along with an explanation letter for the same...
Hope it must have given you some idea...
Regards,
Amit Seth.
