I hope this message finds you well. My name is reflecting as fraud in background verification. When I reached out to the BGV team, they informed me that I had submitted fake documents to meet my targets at Birla Sun Life Insurance Company in 2015. However, during that time, I was actually working at Cognizant. I have evidence to prove that I was in the Pune office on the day the alleged fake documents were submitted at the Amritsar Birla Sun Life Insurance branch by my manager, who used my insurance code.

I have recently been selected for a position at MNV with a good designation. I am concerned about how this issue may impact my new opportunity. Could you please advise me on how to verify if the fraudulent allegation has been removed or if it is still reflecting in my background check?

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Dear Khindeep Bomrah,

If you were working at Cognizant, what was your role at Birla Sun Life Insurance Company? Did Cognizant terminate your services, or did you voluntarily leave the employment? Who failed you in the background verification (BGV)? Was it Cognizant or Birla Sun Life Insurance Company?

You should approach the company providing negative remarks in the BGV. It has been nine years since the incident occurred, so you may consider applying for clemency.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar

This is strange. I you worked with Birla sun life, where did cognizant come into the picture? Were you working for cognisant and at the same time doing insurance work for Birla Sunlife as an agent?

The confusion in your description remains. That apart, BGV is normally a 'confidential' process. If so, how did you come to know about their adverse report? I have no hope or possibility of the verification team changing their opinion post submission of their report. But you still have the option of approaching HR, clarifying the whole issue involved, and explaining what went wrong. Give it a try.
